25 NCAA Gymnasts to Watch in the 2025 Season

NCAA gymnastics is back in action! From now through April there will be gymnastics meets to watch every weekend. If you’re new to the sport, want to watch more gymnastics after the Olympics, or are already a gymnastics fan but don’t know who to root for, here are 25 gymnasts to watch in the 2025 season!


Jordan Chiles (UCLA)

Two-time Olympian and three-time Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles is back for her third season with UCLA! Chiles will be a strong all-around competitor for the Bruins. She is the 2023 NCAA uneven bars and floor exercise gold medalist and all-around silver medalist. She and the Bruins are competing in their first season in the Big Ten.


Chiles’ NCAA career highs: 9.975 on vault, 10.0 on the uneven bars, 9.975 on the balance beam, 10.0 on the floor exercise.


Jade Carey (Oregon State)

The two-time Olympic champion and reigning Olympic bronze medalist on vault will be competing in her senior year with the Beavers. Throughout her collegiate career, Carey has been one of the best all-around competitors in the nation. In the NCAA championships, she is the 2022 uneven bars silver medalist, 2023 balance beam silver medalist, 2024 floor exercise and all-around silver medalist, and balance beam bronze medalist.


Carey is one of fifteen NCAA gymnasts to have a Gym Slam, as she has scored a perfect 10 on all four events.


Haleigh Bryant (LSU)

2024 NCAA all-around champion and Honda Sports Award winner Haleigh Bryant is back for her fifth year with the reigning champion LSU Tigers. Bryant is currently nursing an elbow injury, and her timeline to return is unclear, so here’s hoping for a quick and full recovery so we can see her back on the competition floor this season!


Bryant also has a Gym Slam. She has a must-see vault that she’s scored a 10 on ten times!


Leanne Wong (Florida)

Leanne Wong, Olympic alternate and member of the gold medal winning team at the 2023 World Championship, and CEO of Leanne Wong’s Bowtique, is competing in her senior season with the Florida Gators. Wong is the 2024 NCAA uneven bars gold medalist and all-around silver medalist. My favorite team is the Gators, so I’ve been a fan of Wong for awhile now, and cannot believe she’s already a senior!


Wong also has a Gym Slam, the fourth Gator to accomplish this feat.


eMjae Frazier (Cal)

eMjae Frazier, a sophomore at Cal, has been a consistent competitor and great performer in the NCAA. She is also the first Cal gymnast to score a perfect 10 on the floor exercise. Cal is coming off its best season, finishing as the NCAA runner-ups in 2024, and will look to build off of that momentum.

Mya Hooten (Minnesota)

Floor queen Mya Hooten is competing in her fifth season with Minnesota. Hooten has always been exciting and fun to watch on the floor exercise, and I’m so happy we get the chance to watch her for one more season! Hooten has scored a perfect 10 on floor nine times and a 9.975 on vault five times.


Hooten’s NCAA career highs: 9.975 on vault, 9.95 on the uneven bars, 9.825 on the balance beam, 10.0 on the floor exercise.


Skyla Schulte (Michigan State)

Michigan State senior Skyla Schulte is part of a gymnastics program on the rise. Last season, Michigan State won their first Big Ten championship title. Schulte became the first MSU gymnast to win the Big Ten all-around title and she also won the floor title.


Schulte’s NCAA career highs: 9.925 on vault, 9.95 on the uneven bars, 9.95 on the balance beam, 9.975 on the floor exercise.


Grace McCallum (Utah)

2020 Olympic silver medalist Grace McCallum is competing in her senior year with Utah. She went viral last year when she counted the number of wolf turns she did on her fingers in the middle of her beam routine! McCallum is the 2023 NCAA silver medalist on the uneven bars, and has competed for Utah at the Four on the Floor, the team finishing in the top three all four years.


McCallum’s NCAA career highs: 9.95 on vault, 10.0 on the uneven bars, 9.975 on the balance beam, 10.0 on the floor exercise. 


Jocelyn Moore (Missouri)

Missouri senior Jocelyn Moore competes on vault, bars, and floor, and is capable of putting big scores up on each event. Last year, she was named the SEC Event Specialist of the Year. Moore’s perfect score on the floor exercise last season was a program first for Missouri.

Audrey Davis (Oklahoma)

Graduate student Audrey Davis was a part of the Sooners team that won the national title in 2022 and 2023. She is the reigning NCAA uneven bars and balance beam champion. In the 2024 Big 12 Conference Championship, Davis’ scores of 9.975 on bars, 9.925 on beam, and 9.925 on floor contributed to Oklahoma’s NCAA record breaking team score of 198.950.

Lilly Hudson (Alabama)

Crimson Tide senior Lilly Hudson is a strong all-around competitor who can put up a big score on every event. The four-time All-American has had a perfect score on vault and beam, and last season put up a score of 9.9 or better on floor nine times.

Skylar Killough-Wilhelm (Kentucky)

Skylar Killough-Wilhelm, a transfer from Washington, will be competing for the Kentucky Wildcats in her fifth season. Last year, Killough-Wilhelm had near-perfect scores of 9.975 on bars and floor. Killough-Wilhelm is a strong all-around competitor and will fit in perfectly with the Wildcats.

Gabby McLaughlin (Auburn)

Auburn senior Gabby McLaughlin competes on bars, beam, and floor, and has been one of the most consistent performers for the Tigers. Her best event is beam, on which she scored a 9.9 or better eight times last season. McLaughlin choreographed her floor routine as well as several of her teammates’ floor routines. 


McLaughlin’s NCAA career highs: 9.775 on vault, 9.9 on the uneven bars, 9.975 on the balance beam, 9.950 on the floor exercise.


Payton Harris (Ohio State)

Payton Harris, a junior at Ohio State, has been a consistent all-around performer since she stepped foot onto the collegiate floor and has competed in the all-around in every meet. She was named to the First Team All-Big Ten both seasons. O-H!


Harris’ NCAA career highs: 9.95 on vault, 9.925 on the uneven bars, 9.925 on the balance beam, 9.95 on the floor exercise. 


Leah Smith (Arkansas)

Leah Smith, a senior at Arkansas, is a powerful and exciting gymnast to watch on vault and floor. Smith competes a Yurchenko full on vault, which has a 9.95 start value, and has earned a perfect score twice. 


Smith’s NCAA career highs: 9.95 on vault, 9.925 on the uneven bars, 9.9 on the balance beam, 9.95 on the floor exercise.


Anna Roberts (Stanford)

Anna Roberts, a junior at Stanford, is the reigning NCAA vault champion. At the NCAA championship event, she also earned her career best all-around score with a 39.6375, and finished in fourth place.


Roberts’ NCAA career highs: 9.95 on vault, 9.925 on the uneven bars, 9.9 on the balance beam, 9.95 on the floor exercise.


Lily Smith (Georgia)

Last year, Lily Smith was named the SEC Freshman of the Year. She’s a strong all-around competitor, and her best event is the uneven bars. In her collegiate debut she scored a 9.975 on the uneven bars (which means one of the two judges gave her a perfect 10), and scored a 9.9 or better nine times, including a perfect 10 in just her third meet.

Kendall Whitman (George Washington)

Kendall Whitman, a graduate student at George Washington University, is such an underrated performer; the vault that she competes is named after her and she does the most difficult floor routine in the NCAA. She scored a 9.9 or better on floor eleven times last year, including a near perfect 9.975. Keep your eye on her this season!

Adeline Kenlin (Iowa)

Iowa graduate student Adeline Kenlin is one of the best balance beam workers in the NCAA. In 2022, she was the NCAA balance beam silver medalist. She holds the top two beam scores in Iowa’s program as she’s scored a 9.975 and 9.95; hopefully this year she can hold the top three scores!

Madison Ulrich (Denver)

Madison Ulrich competed in the all-around in every meet in her freshman season last year, and was named the 2024 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. She scored a 9.9 or better eight times on bars and nine times on floor last season.


Ulrich’s NCAA career highs: 9.9 on vault, 9.975 on the uneven bars, 9.875 on the balance beam, 9.925 on the floor exercise.


Amani Herring (Penn State)

Amani Herring represented Penn State at the NCAA championships on beam last year. In her sophomore year last year, Herring was named to the Big Ten All-Championships team after scoring a 9.9 on floor and 9.85 on vault in the Big Ten Championships.


Herring’s NCAA career highs: 9.9 on vault, 9.95 on the balance beam, 9.95 on the floor exercise. 

Emily White (Arizona State)

Emily White, a graduate student at Arizona State, competed on bars, beam, and floor in every meet last season, and competed in the all-around five times (including the last four meets). Last year, she scored a 9.9 or better twice on bars, five times on beam, and six times on floor.


White’s NCAA career highs: 9.925 on vault, 9.95 on the uneven bars, 9.95 on the balance beam, 9.95 on the floor exercise.


Carly Bauman (Michigan)

As a senior last year, Michigan’s team captain Carly Bauman was named to the First Team All-Big Ten, and scored a 9.9 or better nine times on bars, six times on beam, and four times on floor. As a freshman, Bauman competed on bars, beam, and floor, contributing to Michigan’s NCAA championship title in 2021.

Zoe Middleton (Ball State)

Ball State’s Zoe Middleton is coming off an amazing sophomore year. She is the reigning MAC all-around champion, beam co-champion, and floor co-champion. Middleton holds the Ball State program record for the highest score on bars (10.0) and in the all-around (39.750).

Emma Spence (Nebraska)

Emma Spence, a member of Team Canada, will be competing in her senior year with Nebraska. Spence is an all-around competitor and last year had a 100% hit rate on bars and floor. She was named to the First Team All-Big Ten in 2023 and 2024.


Spence’s NCAA career highs: 9.95 on vault, 9.975 on the uneven bars, 9.925 on the balance beam, 9.95 on the floor exercise.
