A New Champion: Who Will Take the Trophy in 2025

As a new season of Formula 1 approaches, a new battle begins. With new drivers, team switches, and new cars, there is no clear answer to who will take the championship trophy by the end of 2025.

Max Verstappen claimed his fourth title in Las Vegas during the 2024 season. Despite Red Bull’s short fall from grace, it’s fair to assume that they will be in the running for the title fight for the upcoming season. The team may not be as dominant as it once was, but it’s still a top-performing team.

Ferrari has been included in many conversations regarding both championship fights. With two strong drivers, especially with seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton joining the team, there is much to be expected for the Italian team. Many fans have long awaited Hamilton claiming his eighth title and breaking the record, passing Michael Schumacher.

Charles Leclerc may have come third in the driver’s championship last season, but with a good car and a teammate to challenge him, he could finally clinch his first title in Formula 1. Ferrari hasn’t had a world champion since Kimi Räikkönen in 2007, but it’s possible that one of their drivers can redeem the team.

The most widely talked about title contender is Lando Norris. This speculation doesn’t come without evidence, as the British driver has claimed he will be the 2025 world champion. After being in the title fight in the same season as his first win in Formula 1, Norris has made massive strides in his performance. With more consistency, he could be a clear opponent this year.

The constructor's championship is also up for grabs, and this fight is possibly even more questionable. With two top teams having new young drivers joining them, they may struggle to perform at the beginning of the season. Liam Lawson and Kimi Antonelli have big shoes to fill, and only time will tell how it will affect the championship battles.

While Mercedes is losing a lot with Hamilton leaving the team, they still have a high chance of success in the upcoming years. With George Russell taking a new role as the main driver, he will have the opportunity to claim his first title.

Antonelli may be new in Formula 1, but his progress in other series has proved that he will be a force to be reckoned with. After skipping Formula 3 following his success in the Formula Regional European Championship, he managed to claim sixth place in the standings with Prema in Formula 2. He may not make a significant impact during his rookie season, but he will surely be a topic of conversation in future years.

With Norris being a main contender, his teammate is also a strong candidate to claim victory. Oscar Piastri has made massive strides since his rookie season in 2023, clinching his first win only in his second season. While McLaren’s success has helped his progress, it doesn’t deny his individual talent as a driver.

McLaren has had a big change since the beginning of the 2023 season, producing race-winning drivers and claiming their first championship title in the 21st century. As the reigning champions, many wonder if they will be able to continue a winning streak or if another team will step up to take the trophy.

2025 will see a big change in the sport, especially with six new drivers and seasoned drivers in new teams. The Formula 1 2025 season will kick off in Australia on March 13, starting a new era for fans and drivers.
