Caitlin Clark didn’t just dominate the court this year — she redefined it. Recently named the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year and TIME’s Athlete of the Year, Clark’s impact goes beyond the box score.

After a historic college career, Clark was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick for the 2024 season by the Indiana Fever.

Clark’s rookie year in the WNBA is nothing short of historic. She was unanimously named the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and made her mark as a rookie athlete breaking multiple records in the league.

Her record-shattering season included:

  • Most points by a rookie in WNBA history.

  • The first rookie since 2008 to earn a spot on the All-WNBA First Team.

  • Most assists by a rookie in WNBA history.

  • Most points by a point guard in a season in WNBA history.

  • Most rookie single-season scoring records in the WNBA.

  • Most double-doubles by a rookie guard in the league.

  • Set the record for the WNBA rookie single-season scoring record.

  • Fastest WNBA player to reach 100 three-pointers (34 games)

  • WNBA single-season record for assists.

Clark’s dominant play has allowed her to become the first rookie in league history to record two triple-doubles and set a WNBA single-game record with 19 assists in a game.

In August, she became the first WNBA player in history to be named Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month in the same month.

As a testament to her strong consistency, Clark was named WNBA Rookie of the Month four times and named Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times in 2024.

Her outstanding performances have not only redefined what a rookie can achieve but have also brought renewed energy and attention to Women’s Sports.

Clark has become a cultural icon, proving that women in sports are not only thriving in remarkable ways but are here to stay.

Her rookie year coincided with an astounding year for women’s basketball — marking record-breaking TV ratings; sellout crowds; and an overall surge in fan engagements.

Her achievements highlight the importance of hard work and dedication when it comes to breaking barriers.

For decades, women’s sports have fought endlessly for exposure that is often overshadowed by their male counterparts. Clark, alongside many other women in the industry, is helping to change that narrative and inspire young girls everywhere to dream big.

As Clark continues to shine, she is not just playing the game and making history — she is shaping the future of women’s sports by setting new standards for what women can achieve and inspiring young girls to follow in her footsteps.
