The Philadelphia Eagles became Super Bowl Champions on February 9th, in which Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP.
The Eagles finished the season with a 14-3 record and went on to beat the Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, Washington Commanders, then lastly most importantly the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jalen Hurts has thrown for 14,667 yards and 85 touchdowns in the five seasons he has been playing for the Eagles, and has a passer rating of 95.4 with 1,813 yards, ten touchdowns, and three interceptions in nine games in the playoffs during his career.
Hurts was selected to play in two Pro Bowls along with winning one Super Bowl MVP award and championship. He has proven that he has what it takes to bring his team to the Super Bowl and to take the victory home. However, there is still doubt about his game.

This season, Jalen Hurts has had a passer rating of 103.7 with 2,903 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions in 15 games. He was a key piece in the Eagles success in 2024.
There has been plenty of criticism from fans and media around the NFL, and even from Eagles fans themselves. "For years, we Hurts fans have heard the criticism. Pundits and bloviators swore up and down Hurts wasn’t that guy. They said he couldn’t read defense, that he should be a running back instead."
Hurts have been called out for being a poor thrower and a player that runs the ball instead of playing the quarterback role. He has been labeled as a system quarterback” meanwhile the Eagles would still be a winning team.
There have been many arguments that most quarterbacks in the league could win if they had the Eagles roster. Having a stacked supporting cast as the Eagles do become an argument when debating whether Jalen Hurts is an elite athlete or not.

Controversial claims like Saquon Barkley having to carry his team, have been circulating. Barkley had an all-time great season. He broke Terrell Davis’ record for most rushing yards in the regular season and playoffs with 2,504 yards in 20 games.
However, when it mattered most, Hurts took over and didn't just have to lean on Barkley to win. He was managing the game and running it. In Super Bowl LIX, he completed 17 of ww passes for 221 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and had a 68.7% completion rate.
Despite the harsh criticism Hurst has faced, he proved himself as an elite quarterback with the ability to lead his team to championship. He is now a champion, and this could very well be only the beginning of his recognition.
