This week I am attending my first NASCAR race hosted by the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which got me thinking – do others know what they should wear to the racetrack, because surely I wasn’t the only one with this question, right? Here’s a rundown of what to wear and what to avoid when attending a NASCAR race weekend.
NASCAR race days are long, typically in the sun and on bleachers, so comfort is the top priority. Always dress for the weather, look ahead of time and dress accordingly!
It is recommended that you wear shorts or light pants, something that will keep you feeling comfortable under the blazing sun. To keep the sun out of your eyes, a fun pair of sunglasses and a ball cap are also great additions!
Popular footwear options are sneakers, tennis shoes, or cowboy boots; keep in mind, you need something that you can walk around in for long periods of time. Close-toe shoes are best for the occasion.
If you are lucky enough to be attending the race in a suite or with pit area access, opt for something more business casual. No need to dress super fancy though, a nice collared shirt or sleeveless blouse is the way to go.
Last but not least, the one thing you might not think about is earplugs! I sure know it wasn't something I thought about, but it is the most essential accessory to pull together any outfit. NASCAR is loud, which is awesome, but it’s also important to protect your eardrums. I will be putting my Loop reusable earplugs to great use this weekend!

Still don’t know what to wear? Let Pinterest be your guide. There are many Pinterest boards out there that can guide you towards a little race day outfit inspiration.

As for tops, I’d opt for anything race car themed. It’s an incredible community of racing fans, who also love all things motorsport related.
For qualifying this weekend, I wore my Formula 1 merch, as with the timezones, it was their first race day of the season. I opted for my Hollister McLaren Lando Norris shirt paired with a black baseball cap, sunglasses, and jean shorts.

Hollister, alongside with other stores, have a lot of great racing merchandise at reasonable prices. For example, look at these NASCAR branded tees, hoodies, and jackets that are way more affordable than most team gear. These stores offer more accessible merchandise that is also fun and different from standard teamwear.

As today is race day, I’ll be sporting this Lightning McQueen Pixar collared shirt, which may not be NASCAR themed, but it is my favourite racing related merchandise I own. I am pairing it with baggy jeans, a tank top, and chunky sneakers.

No matter if it is your first race, your fifth, or your thirtieth, a NASCAR race is a truly thrilling and unique experience. I can’t wait to take part in the more excitement, tailgate, and community the rest of this NASCAR weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway!
