The Northern Super League, Canada’s first ever professional women’s soccer league, has officially announced each teams’ home kits, along with some away kits, for the inaugural season of the league. With logos, team names, rosters, and now jerseys all announced, the league is ready to go! The NSL consists of six teams from across the country based out of Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, and Halifax, with hopes to expand in the coming years. Let's take a look at the jerseys that were designed in collaboration with Hummel sportswear!

Calgary’s kit is a bold purple with its bright red owl crest. The jersey features a silhouette design with the words 'Wild FC' incorporated into a pattern.

Toronto has opted for a sleek maroon coloured jersey, with the T from the AFC Toronto crest enlarged on the front. The team's colours are also similar to the Toronto’s MLS team, Toronto FC, who AFC Toronto will be sharing a venue with for their opening day match at BMO Field. Out of all the kits announced so far, this is probably my favourite of the season.

Ottawa’s uniforms are black with purple lines across that fade out at the top and bottom of the jersey and faint green and blue hues throughout. This unique kit is designed to represent speed and power.

Montréal Roses

Montréal Roses’ home kit features a red rose design over a bright blue background with a white collar. Many expected a purple, black, and gold coloured kit, as those were the original colours in the Roses' logo, but the team instead opted for a bolder and brighter kit. This is a very creative design that incorporates the team logo very well and will definitely stand out on the field. The jersey was designed in collaboration with a local artist Niti Marcelle Mueth.

Montréal Roses’ away kit is a simple white jersey with the bright blue and red from the home kit braided on the sleeve to represent the club's commitment to build connections within the community.

Vancouver features a lighter toned jersey with soft greens and yellows, different from the other bright solid coloured jerseys of the other teams. The jersey features a unique sun pattern around the collar of the jersey, similar to that of the sun in their crest.

Halifax Tides FC

Halifax Tides will be the province’s first professional women’s soccer team. They will be starting the new chapter of women’s sports in style with these purple and blue jerseys for. The home kit features a strong connection to the name with the wave-like pattern, while the away kit has a granite-like white and purple pattern.

The season kicks off on April 16th at BC Place with its first match between Vancouver Rise FC and Calgary Wild FC. We could not be more excited about the next step in Canadian soccer and what it means for young girls across the country to watch professional women’s soccer games in their cities.
