Four Major League Baseball teams have announced new uniforms for the 2025 season. Whether it is a new regular season jersey or a new City Connect jersey, fun new looks are coming for these teams. The Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Guardians, and Colorado Rockies are the teams confirmed to have a new look this upcoming season.
MLB as a whole will be making changes to the uniforms and how they are made. For the 2024 season, the MLB changed the uniforms, partnering with Nike and Fanatics to create what was called “Nike Vapor Premier.”
Many fans and even some players had a lot of criticism about the uniforms. The pants were thinner and had somewhat see-through fabric while the jerseys had similar issues. The players’ last names appeared differently on the jerseys. During spring training it appeared that some of the Cardinals player’s jerseys were different shades of gray.
The league decided to fix these issues for the upcoming season. The players’ last names will be in larger lettering, the uniforms will be made with material that is more sweat-proof, and there will also be embroidered sleeve patches.
In the 2021 to 2023 All-Star Games the league made an American League Uniform and a National League Uniform. Before this change, players would wear their teams’ uniforms, this was the case from the 1930s until 2019.
Fans missed the look of players getting to represent their teams in the All-Star game and made their opinions known. When it was announced that players would get to wear their own uniforms again, the baseball world was very happy.
The Cleveland Guardians will be making changes to three out of four of their uniforms as well as their hats. Their white home uniforms have a slight change to them. The Guardians logo will be horizontal instead of on a slant. The jersey will have a red-blue-red piping design on the neckline and arms.

The red alternate home jersey will have “Guardians” in a new font and a blue-white-blue piping. The blue alternate road uniforms the Guardians wear will have the biggest change. The jersey originally had “Cleveland” on the chest but it will not be their “Diamond C” logo. This jersey will have a red-white-red piping on it.
The Chicago Cubs are getting a brand new alternate uniform. The Cubs’ baby blue jersey is back for the first time since 1981. The Cubs were the first modern MLB team to have a baby blue jersey in 1941.
The Boston Red Sox are getting a second City Connect uniform. The Red Sox will be doing away with their blue alternate jersey and replacing it with a green City Connect jersey. In addition to this new city connect, the Red Sox will be keeping their yellow City Connect uniform in their rotation. They have had the yellow City Connect since 2021.
The Colorado Rockies are getting a new City Connect Uniform. These will replace the green and white City Connect uniforms the Rockies have had since 2022. The team has yet to announce what the new uniforms will look like.
