Baseball’s back, and so are the pregame looks and on-field specialties. With the excitement of Opening Weekend, players typically bring their fashion A-games, getting fans excited for the outfits to come as the season goes on.
This year’s opening weekend provided a variety of outfits, ranging from fancy suits to tributes to those who have passed away recently. On the field, players are showcasing their personalities and debuting new jersey’s for the season. Here are just a few of the best looks from the opening weekend of the 2025 MLB season.

Aaron Judge is consistently one of the best dressed players in the game, and his Opening Day suit was no exception. While many New York Yankees players have abandoned the pregame suit in recent years, Judge keeps this memory alive on Opening Day.

Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes showed up to the stadium honoring his team on Opening Day. Although he is rocking a plain suit, the pirate tie fully elevates the outfit and makes him stand out on Opening Day.

Shohei Ohtani showed up to the stadium in a matching New Balance set, perfect for showing off his brand deal. The real star of the outfit, however, was his dog Decoy, who tagged along on Opening Day.
Christian Yelich

While it may seem like Christian Yelich is just wearing a plaid suit, it was his chance to honor former Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker. Uecker, the Brewers legend, passed away in January after battling lung cancer.
Jazz Chisholm Jr.

In his first full season with the Yankees, Jazz Chisholm Jr. has the chance to constantly up his fashion game. During Opening Weekend, he took the chance to enter in a vintage Yankee jersey and jean shorts. While his outfits aren’t exactly “conventional,” he always impresses.
Bryce Harper

After a long offseason full of TikToks for Bryce Harper, he took the opportunity to show up in style on Opening Day. Harper’s patchwork jacket was unique and something that no other player took a chance on this year.

As a team, the Washington Nationals debuted their new City Connect jerseys this past Saturday. These jerseys are the first City Connects to be debuted this season and replace the original cherry blossom jerseys from 2021. While the cherry blossom jerseys are hard to replace, these jerseys have had a great impact on fans so far.

For his first cleat design of the season, Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler decided to pay tribute to Rickey Henderson. Henderson was a legend for the Oakland A’s and passed away at the end of 2024. These cleats were a perfect way to honor Henderson, especially in the first season that the Athletics will not be calling Oakland home.
