Out & About: What Have Your Favorite Athletes Been Up To?

Another week, another update of what your favorite athletes are up to away from their respective sports both during the season and in the offseason. Let’s check out this week’s edition!

Roman Josi

The Eras Tour stopped in Zürich, Switzerland for two nights to mark Taylor Swift’s first time in the country and there were some special guests in attendance, most notably Nashville Predators captain, Roman Josi. Josi, one of the nine current Swiss players in the National Hockey League, has been home in Switzerland training for next season. But the defenseman made some time to go to the Eras Tour and even took a picture with another high profile athlete who was in the crowd, Roger Federer. Safe to say, even if Josi has some “Bad Blood” about how his team’s postseason ended, he’ll be ready to lead the Preds to another successful year starting in October.

Patrick Mahomes

It was a special weekend in Formula 1 as round 12 of the 2024 calendar took place at Silverstone. While it was a home race for three drivers on the grid, there were plenty of stars in attendance throughout the weekend including Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes, along with teammate Travis Kelce, is an investor in the Alpine F1 team so when he and his wife, Brittany were in England attending Wimbleton, he stopped by for the British Grand Prix as well. Although both Alpine drivers didn’t get the result they wanted over the weekend, it was pretty cool to see Mahomes in attendance.

Serena Williams

The 2024 ESPYs took place on July 11 and while countless incredible athletes were honored throughout the award show, tennis legend Serena Williams was the one flourishing under the spotlight as she hosted the show. Williams had eight stunning outfit changes through the night and looked phenomenal in every single one all while being a great host by paying homage to women’s sports multiple times and landing jokes that the audience appreciated. It was awesome seeing one of the most successful athletes of the current generation on stage for a slightly different reason and everyone who watched enjoyed Williams as the host, thought she did a wonderful job.

Emma Maltais and Maggie Connors

Over the last two weeks, PWHL Toronto players Emma Maltais and Maggie Connors spent time with youth hockey players participating in the Leafs Hockey School. The kids in attendance got to take pictures with Maltais’ Olympic gold medal, learn from two accomplished athletes in the sport of hockey and have fun while doing it all! It’s fantastic seeing PWHL players giving back to their communities both during the season and throughout the offseason. The children who attended the Leafs Hockey School got such a special experience thanks to Maltais and Connors spending time at the camp.
