There’s 1:32 left in the third quarter. The home team has a shot at victory if they can take control and fire the puck into the net. As the play moves up the ice, the energy in the air completely shifts. Whether you’re in the arena or watching from your couch, the anticipation builds with every pass. Then it happens – the puck slams into the back of the net. The goal horn sounds as teammates swarm the goalscorer in celebration. You jump to your feet, cheering, shouting, and singing along with the rest of the roaring crowd as the arena erupts with the familiar melody of the arena’s goal song.

In the PWHL, where every goal marks a step forward in women’s hockey history, these anthems amplify the celebration. From empowering beats to crowd-pleasing classics, each team’s choice tells a story—and that story starts the moment the puck crosses the line.

Let’s take a look at each PWHL team’s goal song of the season that you might want to even consider adding to your playlist the next time you want to relive a kick of excitement.

To kick things off with a 2000s classic, the New York Sirens blast Britney Spears’ Gimme More after each goal. This iconic anthem energizes the arena, giving their celebrations an extra burst of pop flair and a nostalgic spin to every goal at home.

At their 2024/25 season home opener, they added another unique twist to the festivities when Patrick Star’s iconic “WEE-WOO! WEE-WOO!” from SpongeBob SquarePants played following the goal song, an idea that came from the players, giving fans an extra reason to cheer – and perhaps their opponents distracted with a bit of confusion.

After every goal, the Boston Fleet energizes their home crowd with a beloved 2000s hit—Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. This uplifting anthem serves as a reminder that every game holds new possibilities. In just their second season, the team is making history and building toward an even brighter future.

"It’s like the song was written for us," said team captain Kelly Ramirez. "It captures the energy and the fresh possibilities we bring to every game."

The growth of the team and its fanbase was on full display on January 31, 2025, when a record-breaking 5,908 fans packed the Tsongas Center—the highest attendance at the arena this season.

The Toronto Sceptres bring the energy with their goal anthem, HOT TO GO! by pop sensation and recent Grammy winner, Chappell Roan. Known for its upbeat and infectious vibe, the song has quickly become a fan favorite, getting the crowd on their feet and dancing with every goal.

Though the Sceptres spent some time near the bottom of the PWHL standings, they’re finding their rhythm and climbing their way back up. Their resurgence was on full display on January 25 during the second Battle on Bay Street at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena—the home of the Maple Leafs—where they faced off against the Sirens in an unforgettable showdown. In front of a sold-out crowd of 19,102 fans, the Sceptres secured a thrilling 4-2 victory, proving they’re back in the fight.

What better way to celebrate a goal in Montreal than with a powerhouse anthem?

C’est La Vie by Khaled has become a staple at Place Bell, filling the arena with energy every time the Victoire get the puck to the back of the net. With an impressive 12-4 record this season, the team has proven their dominance, sitting at the top of the standings. It’s no surprise that when the song plays, the crowd erupts with joy and pride, as chants of "Allez Victoire!" echo throughout the arena, marking yet another triumphant moment in their standout season.

Ottawa Charge: Gonna Celebrate – The Phantoms

Every time the Charge lights the lamp, the celebration kicks into high gear with their goal song, Gonna Celebrate. With its rock-inspired sound, the anthem electrifies the arena, getting fans on their feet and fueling the team’s momentum.

But the Charge fans have proven their passion extends beyond the rink this season, rallying behind their star forward, Tereza Vanisova, after she was fined $500 for a boarding call against the New York Sirens. Unable to directly support Vanisova, the Red Scarf Union—the team’s largest fan group—channeled their energy into something bigger, pledging to donate $13 per goal she scores this season to the Capital City Condors, an Ottawa-based hockey program for young athletes with disabilities.

In just 24 hours, Charge fans raised an impressive $3,043 for the Condors. Their unwavering support embodies the true spirit of hockey. If ever there were a moment deserving of its own celebration song, this is it.

Finally, there’s the Minnesota Frost, whose goal song is a true rock classic. The moment the puck crosses the line and the red goal light flashes, Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now echoes through the arena, fueling the celebration. The iconic anthem fuels the team’s momentum and creates a sing-along moment for fans of all ages, turning every goal into an unforgettable experience. As the reigning Walter Cup champions, the Frost are battling hard this season to defend their title and chase back-to-back glory. One thing is clear—their hunger is relentless, and nothing can stop them now.

From pop anthems to rock classics, each song adds to the theme’s identity and the league’s growing legacy. With something for everyone, these anthems turn every goal into a shared experience, uniting players and fans in a tradition of celebration that electrifies the arena.
