The Very Best Racing Podcasts for Every Formula 1 Fan

We can’t get enough of Formula 1, and with no race this week, I will definitely be needing my Formula 1 fix. Whether you are driving to work, walking your dog, or doing some much-needed spring cleaning, podcasts are the way to go. Here's a list of some of the best Formula 1 podcasts to keep you in the loop.

The Red Flags Podcast

This was the first podcast I listened to when I was getting into Formula 1, and it is the perfect podcast for new fans. This is a podcast made by passionate fans for fans. They are really quick to upload new episodes, especially on race weekends or after a crazy driver signing. They have also developed a unique relationship with ex-Haas F1 Team Principal Guenther Steiner, who is maybe one of the most eccentric personalities in the sport. As a repeat guest, Steiner adds comedic insider information into the world of Formula 1. The podcast sheds a humorous light on the drama of the sport, Drive to Survive, and all of the biggest rivalries, crashes, and wins.

F1: Beyond The Grid

F1: Beyond the Grid is a podcast produced by Formula 1. The show sits down with many familiar faces from around the track, including team bosses, race engineers, and drivers from F1’s past and present. For example, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, Liam Lawson, and Andy Cowell have all been on the podcast just within the last 2 months. The show is hosted by Tom Clarkson, who has been running it since 2018. You can listen to it wherever you get your podcasts or watch full episodes on Formula 1’s YouTube channel. The podcast goes 'beyond the grid' into drivers' personal lives, the engineering and factory life, race day, and the ins and outs of Formula 1 teams, amongst other topics.

Formula Fabulous

It wouldn’t be a complete Formula 1 podcast list without mentioning Girls Club’s own podcast, Formula Fabulous! This podcast features women in sports talking about everything Formula 1. This is a great space to promote the sport to a female audience and get more women into the sport!

The F1 Show

This podcast is produced by Sky Sports and is great for fans who want all the statistics, news, and detailed explanations of all things Formula 1. The podcast is hosted by familiar faces of the Sky Sports’ broadcast team, including Simon Lazenby, Bernie Collins, and Ted Kravitz. The show is available to listen to wherever you get your podcasts and to watch on the Sky Sports F1 YouTube channel. The show takes a more analytical approach than other podcasts and includes more expert opinions.

Pitstop

This is one of my favourite Formula 1 podcasts! What makes it stand out from the others is how funny and casual it is. The show is hosted by friends and F1 fans, Jake and Fab. This is a podcast that is truly from the fan perspective. They talk about the race, but they also talk about the Formula 1 culture and fandom, including internet memes, marketing, race recaps, and silly season speculations. They have interviewed a few F1 drivers, including Oscar Piastri, Ollie Bearman, and Liam Lawson. Those interviews are some of their best episodes, and they ask great questions about life in Formula 1.

The Fast And The Curious

Hosted by Greg James, Betty Glover, and Christian Hewgill, this podcast is a more recent addition to my rotation. The three are involved in the broadcasting and presentation world of Formula 1 and have recently interviewed Carlos Sainz, Ollie Bearman, and Kimi Antonelli. They ask unique and funny questions that provoke the most random and viral F1 moments, including the recent talk of Kimi Antonelli’s math exams and the fact the young driver is still in high school! The podcast has a really great energy to it; it puts you in a good mood, and they are always creating more unique content.

Talking Bull

Red Bull’s own in-house podcast takes listeners behind the scenes into the world of Oracle Red Bull Racing. I like that this podcast focuses solely on one team, providing insight on the lives within the team. The podcast allows fans to go back to past years and see how the team has evolved. The show has featured prominent F1 drivers including Alex Albon, Sergio Pérez, Daniel Ricciardo, and, of course, Max Verstappen.

Another team-based podcast is Atlassian Williams Racing’s podcast, which is hosted by the team’s drivers, Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz. Recent episodes have seen the new driver pairing get to know each other better. Previous episodes have seen guests like Oscar Piastri sit down with Alex and previous teammate Logan Sargeant. The podcast allows the drivers to share their experiences in Formula 1 and provide long-form casual content. You get to know the drivers a lot better and listen to their insights on race weekends and personal lives. This is the perfect podcast for new fans looking to get to know the drivers of the Williams Formula 1 team.
