It’s officially that time of year again. The Christmas season has rolled around. Families are traveling to see loved ones, kitchens may be filled with the aroma of Christmas cookies or people are rushing to pick up last minute gifts for their loved ones. When it comes to gifts for hockey fans, people often think game tickets are the perfect idea. While tickets are great, it isn’t the only option. Here are some gifts that are perfect for “burr baskets” or as Christmas gifts for the hockey girls this holiday season.
Clutches and Purses

While the NHL doesn’t currently enforce a specific bag policy, many teams and arenas implement their own. For instance, SAP Center recommends purses to be 5 inches by 9 inches by 2 inches or smaller for smoother entry, while Amalie Arena suggests purses to be 4 inches by 6 inches by 1.5 inches to not require an x-ray screening. Because of this, many resort to very small purses or clutches, and there are plenty of cute options to make sure girls have the cutest bag to hold their game day essentials. For starters, the Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag is the perfect sporty bag, with plenty of room for a phone and wallet, as well as extra pockets on the inside. This belt bag measures at 7.5 inches by 2 inches by 5 inches. The Kate Spate Kayla Convertible Wristlet and Madison Willow Mini Flap Crossbody are great options for a classier look. The Kayla can alternate between a small shoulder bag and wristlet thanks to the convertible strap, and measures at 1.6 inches by 4.28 inches by 8.84 inches. The Madison Willow has plenty of hidden pockets inside that are perfect for maximizing space, and measures 2 inches by 4.92 inches by 8 inches.
Lululemon x Fanatics Collection

At the end of October, Lululemon and Fanatics collaborated to bring together hockey and the athletic wear brand’s best sellers to produce the ultimate fan pieces. Fans can now buy their favorite Swiftly Tech shirts and tanks, Define Jackets, Scuba Jackets, Classic Cates shirts, Speed Up shorts, Align leggings and more with their favorite team’s logo and in their favorite team’s color. Though, right now, the collaboration is limited to only 11 teams. While the collection is sold out on the Lululemon website, there’s plenty up for grabs on the Fanatics website. Now, your favorite hockey fan can head to the arena warm and in style to watch the game.
Jerseys

Another gift that is an absolute must for hockey fans is their favorite team’s jersey. Nothing feels better than showing up to the game confident and decked-out in a hockey jersey. Fans can get the jersey with a player’s name and number on the back, or it can be customized with their name, a nickname or a catchphrase. Additionally, the Winter Classic, an annual outdoor hockey game played around New Year’s Day, is coming up. Both teams selected for the Winter Classic make a special jersey just for the game. Both jerseys for the upcoming Winter Classic were unveiled a few weeks ago. Because they are special, one of a kind jerseys, they are a super unique and memorable gift.
Jewelry

Jewelry is always a good gift idea. Luckily, there's some pretty creative hockey jewelry up for purchase. Chelsea Charles makes jewelry that is perfect for stylish athletes. A few years ago, the brand launched their CC Sport minimalist jewelry collection. The CC Sport Gold Ice Hockey Charm Necklace is perfect to wear on and off the ice, as well as to and away from the game. Additionally, a portion of every sale from the CC Sport collection goes to the Women’s Sports Foundation, which works to make sports accessible to women and girls in all communities.
Wear Felicity makes a Hockey Wrap Ring, which resembles a hockey stick wrapped around the finger. Not only is it classy and elegant in its silver and antique silver colors, but it is also durable enough to wear all the time. Also, because of its wrap design, it is adjustable for fingers of all sizes.
For a truly unique jewelry piece, Tokens and Icons takes the cake. They make friendship bracelets out of game-worn NHL jerseys from all teams. To make the NHL Game Used Uniform Bracelet, a piece of the bottom, solid-colored part of a game-worn jersey is threaded through bamboo cords to tie at the base of the wrist. The parts of the logo on the top half of the jerseys are made into custom billfolds. However, Tokens and Icons’ license with the NHL ends at the end of this year, which means that they will no longer produce inventory like these bracelets after that. So, this makes these bracelets something truly special that will never be found anywhere else.
Though there are many gifts for hockey fans, these gifts listed above are ones that will score with even the pickiest of hockey girls. Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!
