From June seventh to June ninth, the New York Yankees welcomed the Los Angeles Dodgers at Yankee Stadium for a three-game series. The two teams do not get to meet often and this was the first time the Dodgers visited the Yankees since 2016. This matchup was only the seventh time the two teams have played against each other in the 21st century. Not only was this a rare matchup, but the Yankees and Dodgers are both two of the best teams in the MLB, making this series even more exciting.
Yankee Stadium was absolutely electric all three nights of this series because of how highly anticipated these games were. There were well over five thousand Dodgers fans visiting Yankee Stadium. Saturday night’s game was broadcast on national television and it was the most watched MLB game since 2022. Yankees fans were slightly concerned about the outcome of this series without Juan Soto in the lineup.
Game One- June Seventh
Final Score: Dodgers Two, Yankees One
The Dodgers won game one of the series. Yoshinobu Yamamoto was the starting pitcher for the Dodgers. He pitched seven scoreless innings. Pitching for the Yankees was Cody Poteet, this was his debut at Yankee Stadium as a Yankee. The game was scoreless until the 11th inning. At the top of the inning, Freddie Freeman and Shohei Ohtani scored on a RBI hit by Teoscar Hernández. At the bottom of the inning, Aaron Judge hit a single and Anthony Volpe scored but still fell short of the win.

Game Two- June Eighth
Final Score: Dodgers Eleven, Yankees three
The Dodgers absolutely killed the Yankees in game two. The Dodgers had starting pitcher Gavin Stone pitch 5.2 innings and he had six strikeouts. Nestor Cortes was the Yankees starting pitcher. Cortes pitched 5.1 innings and allowed four runs. Teoscar Hernández and Aaron Judge both owned this game. Hernández hit three home runs and Judge hit two. This truly was an exciting game. At the top of the inning, Hernández hit a grand slam putting the Dodgers up by six runs. After that, the Dodgers kept that energy going in the last inning and scored three more runs.

Game Three- June Ninth
Final Score: Yankees Six, Dodgers Four
Game three was a game that had both Yankees and Dodgers fans on the edge of their seats all night. In the last game of the series the Dodgers would be going for the sweep. The Dodgers had Tyler Glasgow as the starting pitcher and the Yankees had Luis Gil. Both teams put up a good fight during this game. For the Dodgers, Teoscar Hernández was definitely the leader of this series again hitting a home run in the sixth inning. In the fifth inning and eighth inning, the Dodgers had two RBIs. For the Yankees: Oswaldo Cabrera, Trent Grisham, and Aaron Judge all hit home runs. Grisham was the man of the game, hitting a two-run home run. This was only his third home run of the year and he was playing this game in place of Juan Soto. He does not get to play often, but here he was given an opportunity to help out the team in a big way and he certainly did that.
